Tomato Sauce!

The best crop from our mini garden this year is tomatoes!  My dear sweet husband, Don is making homemade sauce this morning....he is jammin to tunes in the kitchen while par boiling, peeling and straining the tomatoes. The process is pretty easy, he enjoys doing it, says it "keeps him busy on a Sunday morning".  I can hear him in there singing....how cute.

Me, on the other hand, I am sitting in the living room with my coffee perusing Pinterest this morning.  Pinterest always leads me to the greatest blogs which inspires me to add something to my lame little blog.  Maybe some day it will be great and I will have more than one follower!! (thanks honey for following my blog)

At the beach with our California Babies!

I was so excited to see my niece Karrie yesterday that I woke up at 4:30am and could not go back to sleep. I was like a little kid on Christmas morning!  I drove from Detroit to Holland MI (insert hand and point to lower outer palm across from thumb) to our cottage where we had a fun filled day planned.  It was a GORGEOUS hot day...perfect for the beach and Lake Michigan.  We spent most of the day on the beach, IN the water. Yes, I was in the water.....and it was lovely.  Freya Bee, 4yrs old learned many things from my girls - her favorites were "whitecaps" and washing and conditioning her hair right in the lake.  Her mom, Karrie will now have to deal with the fact that Freya was taught to leave the conditioner in for 6 minutes - that's what Emmy did so Karrie is doomed at the next bath time when she is in a hurry.  Sorry Kar! :) Bishop and Freddie had a ball too....kicking waves and pretending to drive to the zoo in the golf cart parked on the beach.  The big cousins loved every minute with their little cousins!
I am so grateful for yesterday.....it was such a joy to see my sweet niece, my sister in law Bobbi and the littles!  Just LOVE them!!

Really?  Do you think so?????
I love my big girl cousin.

We LOVE eachother!

Dogs

Wow, I must have been bored today!  Here are some more pictures of our dogs...notice anything weird? lol!
Check out my new vertical garden!  We used a 10 ft piece of gutter mounted on some scrap wood....it is so great to go out at dinner time and pick my salad!  I love it!  The only drawback was during fish fly season, I had to be very careful not to serve some extra protein with the salad!  For those of you not familiar with fish flies, here is a link....GROSS is the word for fish flies!!

Summer 2012

Pinterest has become one of my favorite past times....this has led me to so many cool blogs.  I am completely impressed with what people are doing out there....and want to join in the fun but I still need to just figure out how to lay it out and organize everything.  I feel like my blog is one big mess.  It really does not have very good feng shui! lol!  I am going to have to work on this!!!
Have a great day!

Summer 2012

My mom painted these darling chickens for our anniversary!

I just love them!!

This is the veggie garden 2012

Love the new door color on the shed!  Compare to the old picture, this is so so much better....there is a
new perennial garden to the right of the shed now too. Things are shaping up back there!  I bought a new light for the shed today, can't wait to put it up.  Think I am going to put it over the door this time instead of to the side - any thoughts?

The new grass looks great and so do the new deck gardens!

My favorite girl...

LuLu

Oh my!  That dog is scaring me!! YIKES!!

Just playing with the camera today....my kids are all big so I have to resort to taking pictures of the chickens to practice with my camera - lol!
